Went for breakfast
Attended cafe for breakfast this morning.
When met up friends were told that had to sit outside as inside (assuming due to Covid) was only open to close family (noticed a couple of people sitting inside having a drink).
Were told that, due to current Covid rules, masks had to be worn until jug of water and glasses were placed on table. I took this as very positive in current lockdown.
After order was placed for breakfast I noted that it arrived in reasonable time even though there were four of us at the table.
One of the persons at the table asked whether he could have some worsteschire sauce with his scrambled eggs but was told that only bbq and tomato sauce came with the meal. Any other would cost an extra $2.00.
When the meal arrived the first thing that I realised was how cold it was. Understand that it was a winter’s morning and we were sitting outside but, the distance from the service area to our table was less than a thirty second walk, so I expected a slight bit of warmth in the bacon or eggs.
The icing on the cake was when we were offered salt and pepper. This was in sachets and offered from the waitress cardigan pocket. I realise due to Covid you can not leave condiments on the table but perhaps serving condiments could have been offered by means of a complimentary tray.
I do give top marks to the friendly greeting but rating went quickly downward after that.
