Situated in the prominent Sydney suburb of Barangaroo is contemporary restaurant 12 Micron. A magazine worthy interior has been created with a calming and earthy colour palette of soft browns, washed out blue, grey and complementary lilac hues, with floor to ceiling glass allowing the outdoors in and leading diners' eyes to the outer deck which offers sprawling water views. Executive Chef Justin Wise sources ingredients from a select range of producers and foragers to create a refined, yet relaxed menu inspired by our country’s elements of earth, ocean, land and air. Begin your tasting journey with an entrée of pork belly, hazelnut and munthari, before selecting from mains like barramundi, carrot, leek and rainforest lime, finishing on a sweet note with an elegant coconut rough.

Enjoyable experience
Passion is something that makes a difference with a restaurant and here we found the staff to have it. The environment is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We were seated at a larger than normal for two table, next to each other. Care is taken with all aspects of the experience, without feeling pretentious or overly formal, which creates a feel of both professionalism and warmth. The food was what we hoped for, the kind you don't cook at home. Portions are good sized. The Puffed polenta, whipped cheddar snack was moreish, my Tuna, beetroot, desert lime was a highlight and both Duck and O’Connor Sirloin mains were cooked to perfection. We chose two sides - the Tomato and Squash, they were delicious. If like me, you like the sweeter side - their dessert tasting menu offers a chance to taste more than one. The overall experience was fantastic for a birthday but we will aim to go again - for no other reason but to enjoy.
