Fishing in Victorian High Country

Australia's largest river dwelling trout are the star fishing catches around Victoria High Country, with several great locations for fly fishing, angling and casting amongst the scenic high country backdrop. The tributaries of the Ovens River are ideal for fly fishing, casting recommended at German Creek, Buffalo River and Morse's Creek. For some bait and lure fishing, head to the high altitude lakes at Rocky Valley and Pretty Valley Reservoirs, located near Falls Creek. Trout fishing is particularly good in Snowy Creek, Lake Dartmouth and the lower Mitta Mitta River.
