I have been a long term (sometimes frequent - sometimes infrequent) diner at A Touch Of Salt. I have seen many dinners, some lunches and more than a handful of wine events and have never had a bad meal or experience. The Brine family have done a wonderful job in selecting their produce, their menu, their wine and their staff. They have a passion for what they do and a terribly high standard for their food, venue and the experience they provide. I have never left them a review before, but in the past 6 months another couple and my wife and I have been to most of the better restaurants in Townsville and I saved A Touch of Salt for last as it was my favourite. And they did not disappoint. From the second we arrived, until we left (the last table), our night was magnificent. The food and wine superb, the service both personal, detailed and yet never in the way. It well surpassed our other nights out in Townsville and was thoroughly enjoyable. I could not fault a thing. Definitely the best place to dine in Townsville.

A Touch Of Salt is simply an incredible place to go for dinner. We are always welcomed like family and the food is never short of amazing. Such a wonderful atmosphere and top, friendly staff, never cease to amaze and always outdo themselves.

Touch of salt serves delicious food in a great atmosphere. Positioned by the water in the centre of Townsville - you can expect an interesting menu with seasonal produce & served by lovely staff. Food festival events are also a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Good luck touch of salt - you deserve it!

All round A Touch Of Salt is the best restaurant in Townsville!

For couples or groups "A Touch of Salt" is the perfect way to relax, with lovely surrounds and truly delicious food. The peach and lychee iced tea is a refreshing and addictive way to begin and the Grilled Haloumi served with tangy minted zucchini and red pepper pide made for a memorable starter. The eggplant, red pepper and mozzarella lasagne was lovely and flavourful also, and the drinks and starters were served quickly and with a smile. Both my husband and myself had the eye fillet with creamy sweet potato mash, Swiss brown mushrooms and ham croquettes and found the steak to be perfectly seasoned, the croquettes to be crispy on the outside and yielding and creamy inside with a tantalising smokiness that went wonderfully with the sweet potato mash and red mustard sauce. For dessert we sampled the yoghurt pannacotta with nectarine and ginger jelly accompanied by a crispy biscuit and fresh berries; and the warm peach and almond tart with lemon verbena sorbet and set honey. Both desserts balanced sweetness and their respective accompanying flavours very well and the cappuccino made for a good finishing touch. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience due to great service from everyone we encountered and a well developed menu loaded with tempting flavours. We highly recommend A Touch of Salt .

Hands down the best fine diner in Townsville, service is always spot on and the food easily rivals many of the top eateries in the capitals. The wine list is extensive for Townsville and proves that a lot of thought goes into the seslections.

Fantastic welcome, friendly staff. Starter of Ham Hock tortellini, lovely, pasta slightly too thick however. Asked for the fore-rib with Tuscan bean salad, instead got perfectly cooked fore-rib and a Mediterranean salad, which would be fine but I detest olives, my husband gladly ate them for me so all was not lost and the steak was lovely. They had run out of the pud we wanted instead we had date & walnut Madelines washed down with a glass of grandfather port. Lovely sparkling to start and a Philip Shaw Pinot noir which had a lovely French style to it. Still not comfortable with being asked everywhere we go if we would like pepper on every course (except desert)
