Urban Beer Bar, Hopscotch can be found on Riverside Quay, just a step back from the popular Southbank waterfront strip. To quote the Hopscotch team directly, beer is the game, a phrase exemplified by the 30 different tap beers on offer to sample, as well as a brew of the month from an on-site custom microbrewery. In trendy surrounds, taste something from the ‘one handed’ section, like cheeseburger spring rolls with Awesome Sauce, or perhaps take on a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner to share with friends – whole beer can chicken, cooked slowly and served with macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, fried Brussels sprouts and chicken gravy. Afterwards, cocktails await, or guests up for a spectacle can roam over to the Nitro Ice Cream Bar for flavour rotational, liquid nitrogen ice cream.
You might have guessed it, we like the tall dark and handsome type. With 30 flavours of beer on tap, the craftiest of them will soon feature as a boutique batch from the custom microbrewery scheduled to arrive on site early in the new year. An exclusive brew will change every month and is personally prepared by local Victorian makers.
