Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns

Checked in at 4pm and room was not ready. When I did get a room you had to walk through past the smoking rooms to get to my non-smoking room, the stench in the hallway was putrid. The room itself was very plain, a half-hearted attempt had been done to refurb & modernise the room but it failed. The worst part of all was the musty smell in our room, everything felt & smelt damp, even the bed. I had high hopes for this refurbished 5-star hotel but was left bitterly disappointed. I give it 3 stars at best.
