Tokar Estate's refined and romantic setting on Maddens Lane showcases the beauty of the Yarra region, with plenty of natural light and fresh country air; dine indoors or alfresco overlooking the vineyards, ideal for celebrating special occasions, or simply treating that special someone to a memorable experience. The menu may feature Port Arlington mussel paté, beef pastrami and focaccia to start, before mains such as Great Ocean duck, witlof and passionfruit; or kingfish, Lebanese cucumber, green tomato and yuzu. For an indulgent finish, delve into biscoff, saison, choc malt and marzipan.
THE OWNERS' VISION
Leon and Rita Tokar have long been passionate cooks for their own family and friends, often envisioning owning and running a restaurant of their very own creation one day. Their dream was finally realised when, on a glorious summer day in January 2003, they opened Tokar Estate Restaurant, bringing an exotic feel to the picturesque Yarra Valley by introducing "a slice of the Mediterranean" to the region.
ABOUT THE RESTAURANT
With the Restaurant dishing up stylish cuisine, peppered with strong Mediterranean influences, and a fabulous outdoor decking and dining area overlooking the stunning surrounding vineyards, Valley and exquisite skyline, one could certainly imagine themselves far off in an exotic overseas location, as they sample sumptuous dishes and sip perfectly matched wines, such as our award-winning Spanish Tempranillo.

The menu, which changes seasonally, reflects both the décor of the Restaurant and surrounding region. Both Leon and Rita love Mediterranean cuisine, so the menu has strong Italian and Spanish influences, featuring where it can local produce that is signature too, and so abundant in the Yarra Valley.
