Brisbane's first Thai Restaurant, The Thai Orchid on Pacific Highway in Springwood, has been delighting discerning diners for more than 40 years. Step through the ornately carved front door into a vibe of Thai statues, accents, potted greenery and traditional artwork to be transported to a world of culinary anticipation. Be prepared to be blown away by flavoursome and classic starters to share such as signature Orchid coconut prawns and creamy curry-mayo dipping sauce, or a soft-shell crab steamed bao, with lettuce, housemade pickles and sriracha sweet chilli mayo. House specials like Thai-style crispy pork belly, stir-fried with Chinese kale, in oyster sauce always entice; or snapper fillets with ginger, shallots, onion and mushrooms, in light soy sauce. Finish with deep-fried ice cream.

Best Thai Restaurant Around!
My partner and I have been going to the Thai Orchid for a long time now, since 1993. The food is fantastic, the service is exceptional (staff are also very friendly), and the decor (although changed) still makes you travel to a new place. My favourite is the pumpkin curry with chicken.

We had a lovely night with our family and friends at Thai Orchid. Food is immaculate and ambience is gorgeous with Thai decorative ornaments. Good quality food, fair prices and friendly staff. Definitely recommended.

When we think about celebrations, Thai Orchid restaurant is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and taste of everything were outstanding. The service was delightful and very professional. 10/10.
Outrageously over priced. Ordered the "Royal Banquet" and was very disappointed. The food was cheap, deep fried, flavourless rubbish. We paid a lot for a 3 course meal. Entree was a spring roll, a curry puff and a deep fried prawn each. Main was terrible, plain and flavourless. Dessert was a scoop of ice cream with topping. Felt ripped off with what we had paid and what we got for our money. Service was slow, restaurant was overcrowded and noisy. We weren't even provided with a knife so we struggled to consume the terrible food. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The service was not up to standard. One waiter was very pleasant and cheerful, but the others were just plain rude. When our meals came out, a plate of steamed rice that we ordered was put on the table, only to be whipped away half eaten without explanation and then replaced with another again without a word from the waitress - bizarre !! Corkage was way over priced at $6.00 per bottle. Such a shame as the food is pretty good.
