About The Peacock Den

Sip, share and indulge at The Peacock Den on Forest Road in The Basin and celebrate the sophisticated nature of this awe-inspiring bird in stylish surrounds. Creating an ideal vibe for wining and dining in Melbourne's outer East, inside is dominated by a huge stuffed peacock sitting proudly as the bar's centrepiece, mirrored in aqua and blue colour tones throughout. With plenty of cosy nooks to enjoy a romantic vino and shared plate with someone special or catch up for after-work drinks with friends, pull up a chair and delve into grilled octopus, smoked almond Romesco sauce and bronze fennel. Wrap your hands around pork belly bao buns with hoisin, cucumber, coriander and fried shallots; finishing decadently with a dessert of sticky date pudding, butterscotch and vanilla bean ice cream.

We’ve recently moved to the area from Caulfield and absolutely love the peacock den. Delicious food and wine, local and carefully considered produce. Just delicious.

The best food ever
food here is so tasty. Amazing flavours and creative dishes.

Excellent venue

Beautiful food and place, perfect for adult serenity

Tried to replicate the prawns at home - and failed... gotta keep going back for more ??! Love ‘The Basin’ Cocktail too ??

Beautiful food and beautiful place

Great food, awesome staff.

Elegant but friendly wine bar in the outer burbs
Wonderful atmosphere, small venue serving excellent wines and delicious food. Friendly staff and chef - we miss the venue but are still enjoying the yummy food as date night takeaways.

Pure heaven
If you ever need to unwind, escape from reality or celebrate something special all you need to do is walk in the warm doors of the Peacock Den and enjoy their heavenly menu with the spectacular wine list. Each menu item will transport you across the world from the pork bao which will take you to China or the saganaki that will take you to Greece all while somehow reminding you of this beautiful country is a unique experience that should not be missed

Always fresh and fabulous real food, catering for food intolerances.
