Situated in a picturesque hillside setting at Dixons Creek, Steels Gate Wines Cellar Door & Restaurant on Melba Highway boasts stunning views of the vines, along with a menu celebrating multi-cultural Australia. On balmy Yarra Valley days, take to the alfresco deck with a glass of estate Riesling in hand and join friends for a lazy afternoon, or dine indoors in an elegant ambience of white-clothed tables and polished wood floors, to ponder menu choices to tempt all tastes. Perhaps start with enticing entrées such as grilled scallops, carrot, miso, shiitake and edamame; before a memorable main of chicken ballotine, pancetta, polenta, burnt butter, capers and sage. Finish indulgently with a divine dessert of almond semifreddo, chocolate sorbet and Amaretto chocolate raisins.
