About Saigon Spice
Blacktown’s culinary bar has gone up a notch with the addition of Saigon Spice Vietnamese Restaurant. The owners’ grandfather founded the iconic Bay Tinh in Marrickville, and Sydney Vietnamese fans would be pleased to know there’s something of a family resemblance between the two restaurants’ menus. Indeed, while the décor is simple and modern, the food at Saigon Spice is as authentic as Vietnamese food gets – light, fresh, flavoursome and true to age-old family recipes. Chao tom banh hoi (sticks of sugar cane wrapped in marinated prawn meat, grilled and served in fresh lettuce with mixed accompaniments) makes an ideal starter ahead of Saigon Spice mains like marinated crispy roast chicken served with salt, pepper and lemon sauce.
