Best Meal I've had.
As someone whose travelled extensively across Europe and Japan I've enjoyed many wonderful meals. An unexpectedly the most enjoyable meal was waiting under my nose in my home town the whole time! Montrachet' s French inspired meals are simple and elegant. The owners go to great lengths to source all ingredients themselves and everything is made from scratch on site. Each bite is a testament to the years of dedication and skill of international Gold Medalist Shannon, who in conjunction with Clare have made something truly special. Also, it is extremely telling for a restaurant to have had the majority of its staff from day 1. That in itself speaks for the beautiful atmosphere of Montrachet. If you only ever get to eat at one Brisbane restaurant make sure it's here. The rustic setting, experienced staff, delightful and filling meals made it a lovely dining experience and I'm looking forward to many more meals there.

As a select seafood supplier I am not easily impressed, honestly I have to say I was here. From import craft beers to fine wines to food montrechet is world class cuisine. Don't be fooled by the setting which is cultured yet diminished by its present location (fortunately they are relocating in a two months I was informed by Claire) the service, cultured decor, and flawless service are superb. Starting with entrees of escargot and soups we were surprised by the delicate palate combinations that lingered and elevated over several minutes. The mains and sides were equally impressive, and the desert was worthy of its gold medal awards. Shannon is a master, there is no doubt, and his and Claire's staff were impeccable. Not cheap but worth every cent. Worthy of five gold stars.

Lunch today for special birthday. Hadn't been for a while and excellent as always. Ownership change appears to have made no difference except the brains aren't on the menu???

New owners so tried their Friday night degustation menu. Well worth the choice. Beautiful fresh foods cooked in modern French style. Light but satisfying. Service incredible. Had wines to match. In all a great night had.
