I realise the terms Vegetarian and Fine Dining don't usually mix; and being that I am one and love the other - my husband and I always struggle for a high quality restaurant that we can go to where I can pick from more than a salad, chips, or gnocchi. My husband took me to Mercer's for our anniversary a few years ago, and I was thrilled to see they offered a full Vegetarian Degustation menu! I was served 7 wonderful, experimental, delicious, beautifully-presented, high quality dishes - finally! A place that gives a Vegetarian something to get excited about! I don't have to mention the fact the rest of their menu is outstanding...even though I can't eat it! Viva Mercer's!
This place has to be one of, if not THE best restaurant in the north eastern suburbs. I have dined here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. How the "Age Good Food Guide" can overlook this place for a food award is beyond me!! You guys are right on the money . The wine list is imaginative and clearly put together by people who have a passion for wine. Well worth the trip to Eltham.
