Matso’s Brewery on Hamersley Street in Broome is the country’s most remote brewery. Matso’s entices guests through the doors with rustic timber floors, oak barrels and artefacts from its days as a general store, along with beautiful views over Roebuck Bay. Sitting on the verandah with a cold ginger beer or a tasting paddle of five beer samples is highly recommended while pondering a menu which changes seasonally and has an Asian-inspired influence. Tuck into prawn croquettes with mango purée and tomato salsa to start, or smoked buffalo chicken wings with celery, carrot, yoghurt and mint sauce, paired with a Mango Beer; or choose smoked lamb ribs with chips and salad. Perhaps barramundi with green curry vegetables and rice hit the mark; finish with lemon crème brûlée and shortbread.
