Perched overlooking the Yarra River on Southgate Avenue in Southbank, La Camera is a beloved family-owned Italian restaurant that has been serving authentic Italian cuisine with warmth and genuine hospitality since 1992. The menu is a heartfelt celebration of Italian tradition - Roman-style pizzas, authentic lasagna, Porchetta from Nonna Chiara's own recipe and what many consider Melbourne's most delectable Tiramisu, all crafted from quality ingredients and fresh seasonal produce. Two al fresco balconies offer breathtaking views of Melbourne while vintage black-and-white family photographs adorn the interior, telling the story of a restaurant built on heritage and love.

Nestled amongst riverside treetops on Southgate's mid level, La Camera boasts two balconies with stunning views over The Yarra River and iconic Flinders Street Station. The interior is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs depicting the history of the family that has owned and operated the restaurant since it opened in 2000.
The menu takes its inspiration from Rome, where owner Lino Scidone and his brother, La Camera's manager Paul, travel regularly with their chefs to develop new ideas. The emphasis is on quality ingredients as well as fresh, seasonal produce.

La Camera has 3 main rooms for functions. Two balconies with stunning views of the city, overlooking The Yarra River. A small balcony that entertains 20- 25 guests(seated) and a larger balcony that entertains 50- 60 people(seated). We have a large area inside that accommodates up to 90 patrons. Special menus available on demand.
