Located in Moonee Ponds, the award-winning Karim’s Indian Restaurant opened in 1999 & has been pleasing customers ever since. Informed locals know this is the place to go for your fill of flavoursome, authentic Indian cuisine, served in a relaxed environment adorned with traditional lights, paintings & decorative objects from India. The service is always friendly & accommodating & the menu, excellent value for money. Karim’s specialises in tandoori dishes but the variety of other tantalising choices makes it hard to choose. Look out for the Chicken Chitora, cooked with pumpkin & a special Masala blend of spices, & Beef Mawali cooked, in coconut cream, mustard seeds, curry leaves & spices.

High quality Indian standards, with a few twists, at very reasonable prices. Try the Murg Shorba - a super-peppery chicken soup taste sensation that will blow your tiny mind but, at a few bucks, won't blow even the tiniest of budgets. Then there's the Kaju Ghobi - a vegetarian delight with cauliflower, cashews, tomatoes and a creamy sauce that has had my partner hooked for years. Personally, I can't stop myself from ordering the Beef Vindaloo as it's one of the few places that does it with skill and complexity - it's very satisfying for those of us addicted to it. Check it out.
Very simple decor but the best Indian food in the area. Get take away on a very regular basis.
