Well worth several visits
Well established business with a very loyal following of locals and visitors alike. Set in the original Council chamber building with its spacious interior and beautiful high ceilings and floor to ceiling doorways. Enter via the well worn steps and the aroma of good coffee and delicious bakery scents fill the air. In winter the open fireplace crackles like a friendly welcoming beacon at the far end of the room. Display cabinet after display cabinet groans with superb choices on offer. Always the stalwart favourites but usually there is always something new to tempt me every time l visit. Evandale is only minutes from Launceston airport so usually it is our first destination after setting forth in the hire car. There are delectable family size quiches and pies to take home with you which we often do. The breakfast menu is well thought out and caters to all tastes from homemade fruit toast to grilled field mushrooms or eggs benedict (my favourite). Perfect for lunch or morning tea on Sunday after the famous Evandale market which is walking distance from the centre of the village. The outdoor courtyard is worth the visit alone in springtime when the magnificent climbing roses which adorn the courtyard wall are in bloom. All in all l think the prices reflect the quality and choice on offer. Staff are very courteous and accomodate every variance to the order with a smile. If you love period landscape, original paintings and watercolours there are many to admire or purchase. There is a wonderful selection of Tasmanias finest preserves and honeys for presents to take home or enjoy. My all time favourite is the handmade Turkish Delight ??! You have to try it. Thankyou Evandale Bakery for always offering quality in everything you produce and do.
