I have a wonderful memory from eleven years ago at this restaurant that I treasure.
Il Gambero Pizza (medium)
Went there with 4 other uni friends for a nice relaxing night. We were greeted with exceptional service, waiters and waitresses were all super friendly, the vibe the setting gave out was if a relaxed and casual nature with different seating arrangements from proper tables and chairs to bar lounges against the wall. Parking was reasonably easy with many side streets however there were no trams running down. Food was excellent and well within a uni student's budget. Serving size was generous and was served promptly. We had the - Il Gambero pizza which had prawns on it, AMAZING! - Il Gambero pasta which had a spicy kick to it - Chicken Romana which was cooked to perfection, juicy as! Overall i highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place on Lygon to eat!
Wonderful Meal
Overall the food was fantastic. There were 5 of us dining. We started with the Calamari and Scallops for entree. The scallops were overawed by the Mornay dressing. The calamari was beautiful. Next there were 3 pizzas, all were excellent. Fettuccine Princess. Sauce was amazing, but it lacked enough prawns. I had 3. Menu online also stated Tiger Prawns, restaurant menu stated prawns. Not sure if they were tiger prawns. Veal Cotaletta was delicious, but needed a sauce. For Dessert we had Sticky Date Pudding, Chocolate mousse, and Marracino. All beautifully presented and tasty. Sticky date was the winner of the 3. Mousse was very nice but a tad rich even for my chocoholic taste buds. All meals were beautifully presented and the decor was very modern and tasteful. Even though we didn't book we were able to get a table quite early in the evening. Will return again to try some more dishes.
