"By a length the best Club in Newcastle" The Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club restaurant has a fabulous location on the water front, over looking the sailing boats moored in the marina. The restaurant is open, spacious, modern, comfortable. Along the east wall, there are large retractable windows allowing an uninterrupted view. The sunset on the sailing boats made a great setting for dinner. There is also a large extended court yard. The menu is good, from bar snacks, kids meals, appetizers, specials along with a cook your own steak/seafood option. From their open style kitchen, the food was fresh and very well prepared, the table service was excellent. We had the oysters, "superb" and Roast Lamb Rump, w/ Mint & Parmesan Mash, Green Beans & Merlot Sauce, "absolutely mouth watering" While we were dining, a function was in progress, a fashion show, in aid of the Cancer Council in an adjoining marquee. The club is open for coffee from 9am providing, News Papers, free Wifi. Tv. A very friendly convivial atmosphere, made for us, an excellent evening, looking forward to returning again. A booking to avoid disappointment would be advisable.
