About Herd Bar & Grill
Just off the main drag in increasingly happening Healesville, subterranean bunker Herd Bar & Grill on Maroondah Highway wouldn’t be out of place in the city. Housed in one of the most striking buildings in town, a collection of warm blond wood slats stand to attention outside, while indoors is a contrasting mix of genres and textures. An outdoor area looks over Healesville Bowling Club; head past the bar and it’s all dark and slinky with deco flourishes inspired by The Great Gatsby. Grab a cocktail of choice to go with grazing plates like smoked trout betel leaf, coconut and peanut, or soft-shell crab tacos; for a memorable main, think of a perfectly cooked eye fillet, served with hand-cut chips, pickled shallots, cress and café de Paris butter, or duck and mushroom pie with carrot mash.
