About Glasshouse Restaurant at Goonoo Goonoo Station

Take in sweeping views over the rolling hills of Goonoo Goonoo Station and the distant Liverpool Range from the contemporary surrounds of Glasshouse Restaurant on New England Highway in Tamworth. Completed in 2016, this state-of-the-art venue sits seamlessly between two re-purposed heritage buildings, with a full glass frontage and sleek interior vibe of subtle downlights, stacked stone feature wall and splashes of greenery. From a menu focusing on fresh, local produce start with char-grilled octopus, nduja butter and lime emulsion; before mains like slow-cooked Angus tri-tip, potato terrine, white garlic purée and Spring asparagus. Perhaps a market fish dish tempts with heirloom Spring squash, fennel and vermouth sauce; finish indulgently with mixed fruit jellies and coconut ice cream.

The collection of buildings are impresive and beautifully restored. The staff were welcoming and our service was warm and personal. We enjoyed beautifully cooked local beef; the menu was a nice take on modern / fairly mainstream Austalaian fare, which makes sense for the audience. The only thing that we could have asked to be different was that a large group (40 pax) took up lots of attention from the servers, who were doing their best. We'd go back and we have recommended to friends.
