Love this place!
Since the place opened, I have been there a few times already... have tried both the breakfast and lunch menus.. And i simply keep going back.. one for good coffee & tht there is something soothing and light about the decor that makes for a very relaxed atmosphere in the cafe the Persian breakfast is delicious... nice twist to usual baked eggs.. also the chef is quite generous with the servings.. and the herb butter on the side was a very nice touch.. my friend had the salmon stack. the serving was again surprisingly generous. almost too pretty to eat! Vol au vent is not your usual breakfast option... but the mushroom and bacon filling is amazing.. the drizzle of parsley oil takes it to another level.. Lunch options surprised me.. esp. the steak sandwich.. the Persian flavours take it to another level.. served in a nice pita pocket… with crispy chips and aioli.. it satisfies the typical bloke’s need/want for meat! And for us girls there is the tuna salad.. the tuna was cooked just right for me.. Pomegranate in my salad was something I never had before and I loved it.. Definitely worth a visit or more… and i recommend it to everyone
Finally a place to go to for breakfast where the menu is more than just eggs benedict, pancakes, fritters or eggs on toast. I am a breakfast lover and i actually can travel to go for a good breaky. The breakfast menu is full of items that make u want to try them all. Its like BION is trying to educate us sydney siders that breakfast can be more than what our palates are usually used to, and they so nail it. I tried the Bion vol-au-vent which sounded very 60's and my partner had the Confit ham hock. Both our dishes were presented beautifully. It felt like each ingredient in that plate was put there by the chef with effort and care and the flavors of the freshness of those dishes was really really fantastic. The coffee was seriously good and we had second helpings as well, we only wished we had elephant appetites to have second servings of the food. The service is full of smiles and the designer owner is a delight to talk to. Overall really great experience. Keep up the good (food) work.
Tell us about your experience...Sunday Morning with 5 friends to a cafe that completely blew our minds. The decor is very sophisticated for a cafe and so is the food. Absolutely loved the food. Simply put i never expected or have experienced cafe food in Sydney to be of such high standard & presented in such detail, all at a cafe price. I guess everyone wants to redefine what a cafe should be like, and its only this new vibrant place in a quite corner in camperdown - BION that captures that top notch spot of getting 100 out of 100. Parking was hard to find but the experience was well worth it. I am not into coffee but my friends thought it was one of the best they had in Sydney. We ordered 2 Brioche breakfast burgers, 2 Persian baked eggs & smoked salmon dish. The food completely surprised us, and the best part was the casual vibe in the cafe so much so that the handsome chef himself got us our meal, luckily i was having the persian dish so was able to ask him a few questions :) The salmon dish my girlfriend ordered was definitely one of the best looking dishes i have ever seen, and for a cafe to put up that caliber of food in front of you is just truly impressive. I will definitely visit again & will recommend it to everyone i know.
