More than simply a place to grab a drink, Bar Hanami offers an experience that shifts effortlessly from after-work drinks to late-night celebrations. The venue blends contemporary Asian influences with the energy and character of Surry Hills, creating an atmosphere that feels sophisticated without being overly formal.

At the bar, the focus is on considered cocktails, Japanese whisky and an impressive selection of beers and wines. Classic techniques meet Asian ingredients and flavours, while the whisky offering gives guests the opportunity to explore everything from approachable pours to more distinctive bottles.

The food follows the same philosophy. Designed for sharing, the menu takes inspiration from across Asia. Dumplings, karaage, buns, Skewers, Nori tacos, Keema beef noodles and other small plates are made to sit naturally alongside cocktails and whisky, encouraging guests to order, share and discover.

One of Bar Hanami's defining features is its multi-level layout. Upstairs, the Sakura Bar provides a more intimate lounge-style setting, while below lies the venue's hidden underground whisky bar — a darker, more atmospheric space suited to private celebrations, group events and late-night occasions.
