Bringing the essence of Bali to the heart of Wollongong by sharing traditionally inspired food is Balinese Spice Magic restaurant on Keira Street. A welcoming demeanour lures locals and travellers from afar into a friendly interior, warmed by soft yellow tones and intricate ornaments, alive with music and the movements of Balinese dancers. Produce is sourced as locally as possible, with the exception of spice mixes which are freshly hand-ground to unlock their flavour potential and release essential oils, then combined using traditional recipes handed down over generations. For a taste, devour meals like King prawns, garlic, chilli, turmeric, lemongrass and galangal; or slow-cooked beef rendang, jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables, finishing sweetly with banana pancakes and sorbet.
