Arakawa, on Ross Street in Benowa, is a modern Japanese restaurant at RACV Royal Pines Resort. With a name meaning ‘wild river’, Arakawa blends tradition and innovation seamlessly, transforming every visit into a meticulously curated culinary and beverage journey. Prepare for an immersive experience the moment you walk through the door - vibrant murals depict Japanese women in traditional attire, evoking a sense of grace and movement, bringing a piece of Japanese customs to the Gold Coast. Start with scallops, truffle soy butter and shimeji, before plates from the grill such as saikyo miso salmon with hajikami ginger, pickled kohlrabi and sides of steamed rice and warm vegetables. Perhaps chicken yakitori skewers hit the mark, best enjoyed with kipfler potatoes and charred cabbage salad.

Fantastic experience
We went for my partners birthday and the team were absolutely incredible, we have two very small children and they were so accomodating and kind even when they started getting restless, then the chef Alex was incredible with my 2.5year old and spoke to him by name and made the experience so personal!
The food was then soooo good! And the portions sizes were fantastic, we left very full! We will be back for sure.

My husband and I have been dining here for a number of years, but we have become more regular since the renovations and menu change along with the spectacular food. The service is fantastic. Every staff member is very professional. The dishes are very tasty and well presented. There is a uniqueness about it. This one was our restaurant for only special occasions, but now we can’t help ourselves to visit more often.

Food was amazing. The restaurant is fresh & modern. All the staff are very professional, warm & friendly.
The service was truly outstanding. Attentive, professional, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection. What really stood out was the presentation, each plate was a work of art, adding to the overall dining experience. Without a doubt, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had on the Gold Coast. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality Japanese cuisine.
