2 1/4 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 light brown sugar
1 cup chocolate chips or red coated M&Ms
Pink/red food colouring
Pinch sea salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 vanilla bean
170 gms butter
2 large eggs
1 cup semisweet choc chips - for best results, use white chips as they are more likely to turn pink.
Using an electric mixer, combine butter with brown and white sugar. Add eggs, vanilla from bean and food colouring.
Combine flour, baking soda and sea salt in a separate bowl then add to batter, beating only until combined.
Stir in chocolates then place dough in refrigerator for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 160 degrees celcius.
Place dough balls on prepared tray and bake for about 15 minutes.
