1 bottle of red wine (if you're not sure which wine to use, try a Merlot, the better the quality, the better tasting your mulled wine will be at the end.)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 orange, slices
1/2 lemon, sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp full of whole cloves
1 handful of sultanas
1 handful of raw almonds
Mix all the ingredients together in a cast iron pot. Slowly heat the pot, stirring at first to dissolve the sugar.
To serve, scoop up some of the sultanas and almonds with the wine and sip slowly.
