After hearing a radio interview with the owner recently concerning his award winning sausages, I had to take a trip to Kambah to check out the produce and was delighted to see Meatways Butchery's wares first hand. Well, I was elated to see the presentation, variety, cleanliness and service as soon as I entered the shop. I love cooking and travel all around the ACT/Qnbyn during the course of my work and try and check every shop that sells quality ingredients and this is one of the best. I didn't buy any sausages because the other meats caught my eye first. After a quick glance around I decided to buy a 466 gram (1/2 kilo)marinated vaccum sealed rosemary and mint lamb roast (I live by myself) @ $16.99/kilo and not far away I espied another vacuumed sealed "stuffed chicken swag" with apricot and I think pistachio nut marinated in (I forget now)which looked sensational. I asked the young butcher about it and he told me exactly how he personally prepared it and upon purchasing gave me a 300gm vacuumed packed AWARD WINNING wood-smoked bacon - FOR FREE! WOW. I am yet to try them but if they taste half as good as they look, I know I will travel 30 min from Qnbyn to Kambah to buy in the future. Thanks for the service. Damian Longhurst.
