Awesome place, beers on tap & excellent food range, the service was great. It's an interesting little bar/restaurant opposite a park, it's got a relaxed atmosphere felt cruisey, wish I lived in City Beach

Not So Good

Nice night for 4 of us to try Park and Vine Alfresco. Ordered 3 burgers and an an expensive Market fish. Burgers were OK. Market fish (spangled emperor) was just too rubbery to eat. We ate the accompaniment and returned the plate with the fish on it. Ordered 1 desert and 2 coffees. I spoke to the waitress re the fish - I said that we were extermely disappointed and I did not want to pay for it. The bill came with a 50% discount on the $34 meal, but that was more than the meal was worth. We were disappointed. The desert (apple crumble) was also very average, and at $14 was overpriced (for tinned apple, crunchy bits and a small ice cream serve). Very disappointing as the venue is good (although a bit noisy) and the staff were reasonable attentive and let us know that Tuesdays were BYO optional nights. Great. The Burgers were OK, but just a burger sitting in the middle of a wooden platter. Why wouldn't you just brighten it up with a few condiments or chips around it.... Stupid me read the reviews prior to going there and they didn't give a glowing report. So my fault, but I remain disappointed with a restaurant that could be such a nice place to eat. Sorry Paulette

Park & Vine Overview

Providing a local establishment suited to all walks of life is Park & Vine restaurant, inspired by a friendly community vibe in City Beach, taking up residence in Empire Village on Gayton Road. Spacious and earthy inside, Park & Vine offers a moody ambiance created by soft lighting and a mural of deep ocean tones to surround guests as they dine, unwinding at communal tables and refreshing with a round of spritzy drinks. If visiting for a morning coffee catch-up, energise with a pearl barley pudding topped in stewed rhubarb and cold pressed juice, or drop by for dinner and devour the likes of crispy panko crumbed duck with a kimchi, orange and cucumber salad or perhaps slow cooked smoked BBQ beef brisket with chargrilled corn and Cajun butter, puffed pork crackling and Texas sauce.
