Situated on beachy Yeppoon’s James Street, just a short stroll from the train station, is up and coming Mod Oz restaurant, Whisk. In rustic surrounds of broad open windows, jet black trim and comfy antique armchairs or outside, alfresco style, shaded by large umbrellas, hungry local foodies mix with eager day trippers in from Rockhampton, to enjoy samples from an extensive all-day menu. Perhaps pair a well-deserved cappuccino with a naughty Nutella scroll, or for a lingering lunch, delve into pillow soft basil infused potato gnocchi with smoky sweet roast potato, mushroom, spinach, toasted almonds and peppers coated in a creamy white wine sauce and topped with shaved Grana Padano. A lavish chocolate thickshake with ice cream will tempt many, while a mango smoothie is a guilt free pleasure.
