Fishing in Gippsland

A fisherman's haven, the Gippsland region will leave you spoilt for choice for eastuaries, rivers, beaches and offshore areas in which to cast out a line and reel in a catch. In the south, Venus Bay is an ideal family fishing destinationm with Waratah Bay the destination for salmon, whiting and flathead. In the central Gippsland region, Ninety Mile Beach offers a myriad of fishing spots, the offshore reefs also providing good fishing. If you're around east Gippsland, the lakes are a hotspot for recreational anglers, rich in black bream, with monster flathead found at Mallacoota.
