About Arnhem Land

Arnhem Land is an area of 97 000 sq. km located in the north-eastern corner of the State and is a must visit for any traveller. You must first obtain a permit however from the Northern Land Council. Alternatively, many organised tours visit the area. Arnhem Land is rich in Aboriginal culture and features a diverse landscape characterised by wild coastlines, towering escarpments, savannah woodlands and wetlands of international importance that provide a habitat for an abundance of wildlife.
