Rugantino’s Italian restaurant is an iconic Frankston institution serving traditional Italian food since 1969. The current owners have been operating for 7 years and have built a strong following of loyal patrons who come for the mouth-watering and generous servings of authentic & deeply flavoursome (home-style) Italian cooking. As you unwind in the casual atmosphere, you can choose to dine in one of two eating areas; the front of house where you can watch the pizza’s being hand tossed.....

Rugantino's Italian restaurant is an iconic Frankston institution serving traditional Italian food since 1969. The current owners have been operating for 7 years and have built a strong following of loyal patrons who come for the mouth-watering and generous servings of authentic & deeply flavoursome (home-style) Italian cooking.

As you unwind in the casual atmosphere, you can choose to dine in one of two eating areas; the front of house where you can watch the pizza's being hand tossed and prepared in a buzzing and vibrant setting; or for a more tranquil ambience make your way to the private room with linen tablecloths and enjoy the large scenic fish tank and cascading waterfall. Whichever you choose you will be whisked away to a restaurant in Tuscany as you indulge in aromatic Italian delights to the background jovial musical sounds; from Frank Sinatra to The Three Tenors.

Rugantino's have an extensive menu catering to the tastes of everyone. The pizza menu has everyone's favourite, plus the House Special – tomato, cheese, ham, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, pineapple, prawns, olives and anchovies. Pizzas are renowned for their old style sizes (large and layered).

Rugantino's serves traditional style Italian food (using fresh garlic only) with some added favourites such as Prawn Cocktails, Carpetbag Steaks, fresh Seafood Platters and Scampi and all priced reasonably. The seafood menu is a popular favourite amongst locals and regulars come from far and wide for the Grilled Scampi which is served with a lemon butter sauce. The Pasta menu gives you the choice of fettuccini, gnocchi, tortellini, spaghetti, ravioli, penne with 10 sauces on offer. All pasta sauces can be served as a risotto also. Of course, the Rugantino's Lasagne is always a popular selection.

All mains are served with either vegetables or salad – there are no hidden costs here. All serves are generous. Great selections of value-for-money daily specials are on offer here, with the fresh fish straight from the trawlers, being a focal point. Finish off (if you can fit it in) by selecting from the delectable and traditional assorted Italian ice-creams or locally famed gelato being a favourite of many. A must mention is their large selection of fine red and white wines available, plus spirits and an assorted fine selection of beers also.
