Taj Indian Restaurant Overview

India’s fresh colourful flavours are alive and well at this suburban Nambour favourite. Taj Indian restaurant has established a loyal following of regulars over the years and it’s not hard to understand why. An obviously comfortable local crowd chatter over an agreeable menu. There is no shortage of spice in the Rogan Josh Curry with caramelized fried onions, cashew nuts and fresh coriander. Alternatively opt for a classic Barra Kebab - lamb chops marinated in tandoori masala, or Jal Frezi - pan friend tomatoes with cumin seeds, capsicum in tangy onion masala gravy. There’s no shortage of traditional breads and rice dishes but be sure to leave room for the Gulab Jamun milk dumplings for dessert.

This is a good local Indian. There is nothing outstanding in the flavours and the taste and look of the meals varies from time to time. No evidence of lovely fresh spices..all quite subdued. Often the service is appalling, just depends who is on. ( have to ask for something several times ! ) Big attention given to their take-away business so often your waitress is busy with that when you want something. Most of them need some decent training by someone who knows what they are doing. Just get out of your seat and chase them ! Garlic naan and onion pakora great. Overall it's OK, but having come from Morningside in Brisbane where we had Curryville, it's a long way down the rankings for me.

yeah i recently i hv gone thru Taj Indian Restaurant wth my Girlfrien Ema. it was my first date wite her and thank God Taj u save me with your superb food, decor, services. Me n my Girlfriend totally impressed with Taj's food n etc. Taj means Crown n i think Taj goona be rock soon with its food n etc it means i hope Taj will be the only indian Restaurant that will totally n madly Rock!! I love Taj n evything it surrounds!!!!

I love Indian food and was very pleasantly surprised to find this great restaurant in suburban Nambour. The menu offers great variety at very reasonable prices and the servings are generous.

The ambience is somewhat spoilt by the never ending stream of 'takeaway' customers but the table service does not suffer because of this.
