Best Known For
A hidden Japanese dining gem in Parramatta's Heritage Precinct, famed for curated omakase platters, seasonal innovations, and its iconic olive tree centrepiece.
About Oribu
Embark on a new culinary era at Parramatta's first Japanese fine dining experience at Oribu on Church Street. Nestled on the rooftop of the Heritage Lounge, food artistry meets Japanese perfection at this moody and evocative venue where a magnificent olive tree sits centre stage, twinkling with fairy lights and food is served with flair and theatrics. Stop by the bar for a cocktail and snack of hiramasa kingfish carpaccio or popcorn prawns and creamy spicy sauce, yuzu and macadamia; before dining on an omakase share platter of salmon, tuna, kingfish, scallop, abalone and oysters. Perhaps Wagyu beef sirloin entices with chopped wasabi, sansho salt, spicy miso and sides of charred sweet corn, crispy eggplant, broccolini and steamed rice; or toothfish with cured sweet miso, wakame and ginger.

Refined, Elegant and Truly Memorable
Oribu continues to set the benchmark for fine dining in Parramatta. From the moment you enter, the space feels elegant and refined, centred around a stunning olive tree that creates a unique atmosphere unlike anything else in Sydney's west.
The sashimi was exceptionally fresh and beautifully presented, showcasing premium seafood with attention to detail in every dish. Highlights included the kingfish carpaccio, salmon and caviar tartare, and an outstanding selection of nigiri finished with Oscietra caviar. The balance of Japanese technique with modern presentation was executed flawlessly.
Service was attentive, knowledgeable and professional throughout the evening. Staff took the time to explain dishes, make recommendations and ensure every detail of the experience was seamless without feeling intrusive.
The beverage offering is equally impressive, with access to an extensive collection of whiskies, wines, sake and cocktails from The Heritage Precinct. The pairing of exceptional food, service and atmosphere creates a dining experience that feels far beyond a typical restaurant visit.
For those seeking a special occasion destination, a refined date night, or simply some of the best Japanese cuisine in Sydney, Oribu is well worth the visit. A memorable experience from start to finish.
Honestly probably the best restaurant we have been to
The staff service and food were all just top notch.
Every meal served from the tasting menu was just spectacular.
My mouth was experiencing flavours and textures as if it was a theme park.
Simply incredible.

The omakase experience is intimate, artful, and unforgettable. Service is seamless, and the ambiance—anchored by a striking olive tree—feels both elegant and grounded. A must-visit culinary destination.
Amazing experience!
This week we celebrated at Oribu and everyone including serious foodies were very impressed. The cuisine is just stunning and the service is amazing. As it was a special occasion they surprised me with sparklers at the end and a few shared deserts even though no deserts had been ordered. Thank you so much Oribu for making a very special event even more amazing! People you must try this place it is a hidden gem and must not be missed. Thank you again everyone!!!!
Simply Amazing
Oishi is Japanese for delicious !
What a wonderful meal for our anniversary! Every course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our server Lillian and her lovely daughter looked after us like family, and manager Louis solved an issue with the online booking personally. We love that we are treated with the respect of not taking booking fees for bringing business, or credit card details in advance (we pay cash). Only minor drawback was that the music was too loud for a room of diners clearly there for intimate conversations, not partying.
Fantastic food and service.
Tried this place the other day and it did not disappoint. The food is exquisite, I definitely ate more than I should. Thw staff were friendly and attentive. 10/10 definitely recommend.
What a gem! We loved every dish.
Just experienced Oribu for the first time and we were so impressed! I would definitely recommend. The food was absolutely delicious, there wasn’t a dish we didn’t enjoy out of the eight course chefs tasting menu. The cocktails are superior and the staff were attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed but sophisticated. We will definitely return when we’re in Parramatta next. I could go on about each dish, but I will complement the Toothfish and the Tenderloin! Well done Chef. We’re fans! Ben and Stevie
