Tides Waterfront Dining Overview

Set right opposite Bulcock Beach at Caloundra, Tides Waterfront Restaurant combines panoramic ocean views with contemporary elegance. Only the freshest of fresh seafood could live up to this sort of setting and fortunately, Tides delivers. The menu’s constantly being updated, but expect to find dishes like ocean trout poached in a ginger & tomato consommé, paired with a crab & chervil salad & drizzled with crustacean oil, or pan seared Hiramasa kingfish served on a ricotta & beetroot champ alongside a white anchovy anchoiade. Meat lovers needn’t fret, for they’re well catered for too. Order a la carte or opt for the six course degustation, a culinary journey across both land and sea that’s well worth taking.

Tides' outlook over Bulcock Beach would be classed as a million-dollar view in any postcode, but this restaurant aims to offer Caloundra locals more than just a pretty vista.

Tides boasts an evocative menu of contemporary dishes, with trawler-fresh seafood in the lead role. Entrees are fascinatingly intricate, with dishes including sauteed, pancetta-wrapped scallops paired delicately with a spiced carrot puree and fragrant basil oil.

Wayne Smith's mains range from letting the seafood do the talking like the cold seafood platter; a combination of fresh sustainable seafood sourced from the some of the country's finest areas, to the more articulated Cone bay barramundi with braised fremantle ocopus, lentil and spiced artichoke salad, drizzled with an aged balsamic vinaigrette.

The food is matched to a wine list showcasing some of australia's finest drops, mixed with some well known names. There is selection of aged wines to appease the discerning drinking as well, With all the top winerys having a place. With knowledgable staff to help guide you through the process from first being seated to the final sip of your coffee, they are always there, but never in your way. Tides is an experience to remember.

Located directly opposite the pumistone passage, with views from the pacific ocean, to sunsets over the glass house mountains, there is always something to see. Look carefully and you might be lucky to spot the family of dolphins who regularly swim up and down the passage.

Tides is a must visit on any trip to caloundra. If the spectacular views don't draw you in the friendly beachside formal service and the delicious food will.

The chef is very talented with matching flavours,We loved everything we ate.Presentation was amazing.It was on par with some restaurants we have been to in brisbane.If you have never tried Tide's your missing out.
