A few words from Margan Restaurant
At Margan, we offer modern farm-to-table dining and estate-grown, single vineyard wines, set amongst our vineyards with sweeping views across the surrounding mountain range.
We're a family-owned farm, winery and restaurant, located in the picturesque village of Broke in the Hunter Valley. Since opening our restaurant in 2007, we've welcomed guests to experience our acclaimed farm-to-table dining, with menus shaped by what we grow on the estate. Our one-hectare kitchen garden and orchard, olive groves, estate-reared lambs, beehives and free-range chickens all contribute to a hyper-local approach.
Wine is central to what we do. Our list features current and back vintages of estate-made wines, alongside a considered selection of regional, Australian and international producers.
We offer a range of interactive experiences, where guests can walk through the kitchen garden, vineyards and winery for a closer look at what happens behind the scenes on the farm. These guided experiences offer insight into how we grow, farm and make our wines, before settling in to enjoy the results in the glass and on the plate.
We're committed to environmental stewardship, guided by a detailed and accredited Environmental Management Plan. The property is managed using organic and regenerative farming principles, and we're proud to be the only restaurant in the Hunter Valley certified as Sustainably Farmed.
You can visit our rammed earth restaurant and cellar door for an acclaimed food and wine experience. The restaurant is open for lunch Thursday to Monday and can be booked for private evening events. Our cellar door is open daily for wine tastings, with casual dining options also available.

Good favourite
This place, quite simply amazing food and lunch at Margan could possibly be the best dining experience in the country! Having opted for the degustation menu, we were impressed with every morsel, the method, the delivery, the timing, all perfect. The wait staff were attentive and non intrusive, absolute quality of service, the wines were also very, very good. Outstanding, thankyou.
Fantastic location and food to boot. I have eaten here a number of times and never been disappointed. I look forward to going back many times in the future.
Our favourite restaurant in Hunter Valley. We recommend the 30m meal where all the ingredients have been sourced 30 meters from the restaurant. What also impressed us was that they charge the wines at their cellar prices.
We had lunch here the food was amazing , very friendly staff. Already looking forward to my next trip to the Hunter so I can feast on the fantastic food.
