This is a wonderful find deep in North Turramurra. I wanted somewhere for a nice lunch. The exterior is just another shopfront but open the door and a wonderful chocolate counter with a range of gourmet delicacies welcomes you in. The floor staff, Jenny & Josh, are well trained and know how to make a person feel welcome. A good start. The lunch menu is balanced with a full range of vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes. The wine list has wine by the glass and this was perfect in my case. So commencing with a crisp French blanc de blanc was just right for a starter of fresh oysters. I settled for the garlic roast king prawns with a leek and gruyere tart with chervil vinaigrette. The combination of tastes was wonderful, including the vinaigrette, but the tart was just a little oily for my liking. An Italian pinot grigio was very suitable. The desert menu is wide ranging but I had to try head chef, Peter Barter’s signature desert, soufflé with crème Anglaise and vanilla ice cream. Soufflé can be a temperamental dish but Peter nailed this one with a beautifully light and airy raspberry creation. I definitely will be back to try the dinner menu.
