Just off the Princes Highway, beside the captivating Royal National Park in Heathcote is groovy café hot spot, Smoke & Soda. Inside, patrons are greeted with an abundance of rustic wood in tones of mahogany, maple and honey, lining the walls, stools and benches, creating a laid back cabin in the woods vibe. The menu is a tribute to sourcing the best fresh, local and sustainable produce available and features the fruits of partnerships with the region’s local farmers. When it comes to breakfast, ricotta hotcakes with whipped honeycomb butter, vanilla ice cream and maple syrup go down a treat, while for a hearty lunch the Smoke & Soda classic American cheese burger is a worthy choice. To round out the afternoon perhaps sample some tangy, yet sweet rhubarb, lemon and fennel sherbert.
