Translating from Tibetan to mean delicious, Shimbu Tibetan Restaurant is an all-encompassing sensory delight, joining the dining hotspot precinct along East Brunswick’s Lygon Street. This trendy family-run restaurant feels warm and welcoming, adorned with Tibetan trinkets and miniature monks while black subway tiling adds a sleek city vibe. Most of their ingredients are made in house by their Tibetan chef with over 25 years of culinary experience, providing two main styles of dishes to suit all tastes; while the first side of the menu offers traditional flavours, the other side sees dishes with a far more contemporary twist. Don’t be shy to order an array of both such as a mix of steamed dumplings, spicy vegetable curry, pork belly soft shell tacos and fried chicken with Kewpie mayonnaise.
