For a taste of Peruvian flavours in Melbourne, look no further than Mi Peru D'Carmen. Established in October 2013, this home-style Peruvian restaurant is tucked into the quiet suburb of Parkdale. With a homely interior and service to match, diners can expect a warm and exciting dining experience, complete with an array of enticing dishes. Start with a couple of crispy beef empanadas before delving into Peru’s national dish, the ceviche, comprised of raw fish, calamari and prawns marinated in lemon, chilli and garlic. Mains may include the Peruvian lamb and bean stew served on rice or perhaps the carapulcra with pork and chicken pieces cooked in an Andean-style dried potato sauce with crushed peanuts. To finish, share a couple of Peruvian-style doughnuts served with a sweet fig leaf syrup.
