About Marina Bar & Grill

Dining locations don’t get much better than that of Marina Bar & Grill, perched right on Tin Can Bay Marina. Formerly Snappers on the Marina, Marina Bar & Grill is already enticing customers back with impressive service and food, not to mention its spacious waterfront deck – a perfect spot to relax and watch the boats come and go. With the water so close it’s appropriate that seafood dominates the menu, perhaps start with grilled lobster tails, honey and garlic butter sauce; or crispy fried calamari and lemon pepper. For the main, delve into grilled Red Emperor fillet, lemon butter and caper beurre blanc and garden salad; or veal cutlet saltimbocca, wrapped in prosciutto with sage cream, mash and greens. Sweet tooths can indulge in a selection of housemade cakes, muffins and scones.

What a wonderful surprise!!
When visiting tiny towns in regional Australia the dining options are often limited to the local pub and maybe a bowls club. What a very pleasant surprise when we strolled down from our bungalow to this restaurant. The staff were delightful and genuinely cared about our experience. We managed to fluke a table overlooking the marina (we didn’t have a booking and the restaurant was full but luckily for us some patrons left as we arrived). The menu was wonderful, with so many tempting options and at extremely reasonable prices. Generally this makes me nervous but it turns out that in this instance it shouldn’t have! Hubby opted for the natural oysters to start. They were plump, juicy and delicious. My flame grilled prawns were similarly delicious. For mains we opted for the flame grilled rib steak with bone marrow and red wine jus, Paris mash and greens (hubby) and red emperor with cherry tomatoes, wilted spinach and almonds. STUNNING! The wine list was good, although, if I was to be picky there was no rosé (my current favourite), so maybe they lose a point for that haha. If you are in the area this should definitely be on your radar.

Every Sunday my wife and I meet friends there for lunch. They have great food and entertainment from noon till about 3 pm. $25 per person includes a meal and sumptuous dessert.
