Established in 2012, La Bonne Table offers a sleek retreat from Adelaide’s city rush inside this elegantly set restaurant on Wakefield Street. From the high ceilings, creating an industrial style look to the dazzling natural light cast through the room, La Bonne Table delivers an intimate dinner for two and a buzzing atmosphere suited to larger groups. Pleasant staff and good service. When booking, ask for a table under one of the (few) lights - we were sharing a smartphone with a torch function in order to read the menu. Unusually good list of wines by the glass. Although listed as tapas and restaurant, a lot of the small plates and tapas weren't really the sort of thing readily shared by people not in love with each other. I had the scallops and black rice risotto. Scallops excellent, with a dressing that had me wondering if perhaps the dim lighting would let me lick the plate. The risotto was interesting but - even allowing for the mixes of rice - perhaps a little undercooked for my taste. But we enjoyed the meal and I need to return to try some of the other items on the menu.
