Wow
Lets start with the service. We were made to feel like welcome regulars despite only having been here once or twice before. The setting is delightful, a little hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Not really sure what to order, the amazing staff happily spent time giving recommendations and discussing the menu. We started with the Son in Law eggs which were surprising and delicious, the salt and pepper chicken spare ribs are incredibly moreish. Sides of Chinese cabbage and crispy fried corn cakes perfectly complimented the succulent twice cooked pork belly. Could not have been happier with the meal coming in at under $90
Service excellent, flavours very ordinary nothing special at all. $180 for two diners two glasses of red. Left with all of our fine threads smelling like deep fryer oil NOT HAPPY, heavily over rated.
A must do restaurant when I'm wisiting Melbourne
Gingerboy has become a regular haunt of mine, primarily because of it's amazing food. The staff are consistent although the level of service has started to drop off over time. An example is where they used to always ask if anyone at the table had allergies, but they dont seem to do that any more. The food is "introduced" to you by the wait staff and you end up with a very good understanding of what you are eating and how it is prepared. Their cocktails are quite simply, the best.
