Fantastic food and service
Ambience , service food all outstanding , a good selections of wines, and great banquet/ couples options . Two of the outstanding dishes our party had was the pork belly, and the sizzling beef , a real gem of a find . Definitely up market would recommend.
Suprisingly great Asian food
Dinner with four friends (one vegan). Menuset at $59 a head with a choice of 5 dishes to share for our table. Very accommodating manager who provided some vegan options as our selections. Their menu is nothing like standard Asian restaurants that throw a Bible at you to read. Instead we were offered modern Asian dishes that were just bouncing with flavours and showed us their Chef understands good technique. The Pork belly Vietnamese lettuce delight was just '"on point".
Beautiful water views but admit we did find it was noisy.
Amazing food and great service
couldn't fault either the food or service. Astonishing sunset and water views.
Lovely
We had dinner on the 27th November, a table by the water as requested. We decided on the Chef's banquet 3 course menu which we enjoyed alot. Every dish was presented with flair and creativity and the taste was exceptional. There booking system is dreadful and never answer the phones. We managed to get a table by visiting the venue earlier in the week.
Delicious degustation dinner
As locals we felt the need to support business that is going through a tough time with the covid Lockdown. We are happy that we finally tried floating dragon. We were sceptical of a set menu and slightly disappointed but not much was on offer but the food that was presented was delicious tasty and well above the standard. We hope to come again and wish all businesses the best during these difficult times.
We went for the five course Chefs choice deal and added some roti with satay.Food was brought out in stages and we enjoyed every one of them. Recommend the caramel pork belly and grilled local scallops were above expectation. Make sure you leave room for dessert, the fried ice cream was shared. Great water views can be enjoyed on any table with floor to roof windows. Very accommodating staff in a modern dining atmosphere.
great food overshadowed by white noise
I can still here the ringing in my ears from last night's dinner. Our meal the saving grace (a 10 out of 10). Then comes the restaurant setting. Management more interested to maximise bums on chairs meant we were surrounded by screaming children and large family diners.
The entire restaurant is glass which only amplifies sound.
When we approached the manager about our discomfort from the sound , he's only solution was to put us outside blaming the long weekend for the noise. It's a pity because the food was exceptional and our server was bright and enthusiastic. Vet your diners or have a no child policy if you dare to charge $65 a head. We will come back on a much quieter night, perhaps in the middle of winter. That's if the ringing in my ears subsides by then.
Unbelievable New Years Degustation
what a brilliant way to say goodbye to 2020.
We requested the chef set menu which was absolutely first class cuisine.
We had a selection of raw , cured and cooked seafood all done to perfection. dessert exceptional .
obliging Chef
The food/ location was top notch. It's actually a floating restaurant and was novel for the kids as it rocks back and fourth. Very impressed with their chef who was more than obliging to accommodate my child's food allergies.
very surprised to find such quality food in a very tiny town. authentic Cantonese seafood serving on a boat.
Brilliant Food but a tad pricey
Only hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as i do. My wife and I live in Bairnsdale and we often make the 30 minute drive down to Lakes Entrance just to eat here. This is by far the best Chinese food east of Melbourne.
An Almost Perfect Evening
Choosing to dine over the Christmas/New Years period was not the best decision made. Over crowded and loud, this restaurant is extremely popular and ruins the otherwise peaceful surrounds. Be as it may, the food was incredible. Lakes Entrance is not spoilt for choice when it comes to good food, but they hit the jackpot here. We let the Chef choose for us and had course after course of mouth watering authentic /spicy dishes. Our waitress had good food knowledge and gave good descriptions of each of the courses. Servers did seem rushed and overwhelmed at times with the entourage of hungry diners demanding tables. Avoid the wait and make a reservation if you don't want to be turned away is my suggestion. This would be a fantastic restaurant if you ever get a chance to dine here outside of the busy season.
we missed out on a table Thursday so we made sure we got in on Friday and it was FULL!!!!. Make a booking for this restaurant popular little spot with both locals and tourists -fills quickly. Fortunate to get a table by the window, Loads of customers who attempted to dine here were turned away.
A week in Lakes Entrance, many mediocre restaurants. this was our favourite. Good food and service, leaps and bounds ahead of anything else about. Try the dumplings they were great.
The previous glowing reviews say it all... this is by far some of the best Asian food you will find anywhere. The setting on the water is divine and they back this up with professional and attentive servers. Make a booking as they fill up quick.
I think this is the best regional Chinese restaurant I've ever eaten at. Forget what you know about country Chinese restaurants, this place is as good as city establishments. So surprised! Loved it.
Lovely view, beautiful authentic Chinese that in our opinion hands down best restaurant experience of our trip. Made other restaurants food seem mediocre.
Wow, we read the reviews before we booked and the Floating Dragon did not disappoint, service was excellent, the staff we're friendly and attentive and worked as an efficient team . The food was superb , this is truly the best Chinese food we have ever eaten , fresh , spicy full of amazing flavours , a far cry from the usual greasy, corn flour thickened meals eaten in the past. We opted for the $75 pp chefs pick , definitely value for money , you will not go hungry , we battled to get through all the delicious selections which included yummy home made desserts , thank you Floating Dragon for a memorable night
This restaurant hardly needs another great review.. but they do deserve it! Floor staff were exceptional. The food was by far some of the best Chinese food ive ever eaten. The restaurant floats and has a beautiful water view of the lake and surrounds. It was very busy on a wednesday night so my advise is it book ahead
food is to die for. As other reviews suggest the view has to been seen to be believed. Highly recommend the pork belly, crisp and delicious. local wines a plenty.
outstanding service from the floor staff. One of the best wine lists i have ever seen in a asian restaurant. heaps of local wines, beers, ciders and local produce. Time your visit at sunset and you will not be dissapointed.
always great food and service at Floating Dragon. Best water views in town.
Just beautiful food and great position on the water. Good service and fair value for its location. The claypot with local seafood was to die for.
