Cultural Commons brings funky inner-city café culture and a mouth-watering spread of burgers to Springvale. A painted mural wall of birds created by Melbourne artist Mike Makatron sets the backdrop for a vibrantly inviting setting, with brightly-coloured iron chairs, wooden picnic tables and Astroturf completing the picture. Already said to be creating a stir in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, Cultural Commons’ burgers are housemade and packed with bold flavours – think soft shell crab burger served with a dollop of spicy mayo or spicy buttermilk fried chicken burger with fresh house slaw. Cultural Commons’ breakfast menu offers something for Springvale’s early risers with dishes such as Spanish baked eggs and chorizo smashed peas served with toasted sourdough.
