LegBefore

Dinner at Alpine Larder was a little disappointing. My son had a wood fired pizza which was absolutely superb. My wife chose salmon which was far too salty and served with a tasteless salad. I chose the pork chop which was perfectly cooked, tender, served in a bed of herbed sweet potato and fennel but accompanied by a flood of jus of near biblical proportions. The service was good but not great, the pepper mill on our table (and two adjoining tables) was empty but the setting is great. Our causes for complaint are easily fixed and hopefully they'll get the message!

Alpine Larder is a great spot for a coffee overlooking the resort lawns and lake and has a great wood fired pizza menu. The lunch and dinner menu features some attractive dishes which are well presented but just don't deliver on taste. We had salmon which was just too salty, coupled with a visually appealing but bland salad, and a pork cutlet where the meat was cooked to perfection, presented on a bed of herbed fennel and sweet potato which would have been edible if it wasn't drowned in jus. We'll eat there again, but probably skip dinner unless we have a pizza night.
