About Akita Japanese Restaurant

From sushi to sashimi, hot pots and everything in between, there is a dish on the menu for all North Melbourne foodies at Akita Japanese Restaurant on Courtney Street. A traditional ambience of dark wood table settings, Japanese paper screens, softly glowing wall lights and white napery greets diners; while upstairs a private dining room exudes a regal vibe of red walls and interesting artwork. Stop by for lunch and enjoy specials such as an Akito bento box, with salmon salad and croquette, beef with ginger sauce, miso soup and rice; or order sushi a la carte and delve into the likes of an inside out roll of salmon, prawn and cucumber, with avocado on top. Perhaps beef tataki and ponzu soy sauce tempts, or a tasty hot pot of pork and vegetables in a miso base, cooked at your table.

A busy place indeed. Our waiter did a very good job. Food arrived hot and promptly. We live in the eastern suburbs but would definitely go there again

Average in Service, but great food and environment with a reasonable price. A very good value restaurant. Only problem is they don't open Saturday and Sunday.
