Fabulous!!
Popped in to 1908 Cronulla on a whim after work. Balmy night, just hubby and I, for an easy mid-week romantic dinner.

#1908 does not disappoint.

Service is warm, friendly and welcoming – we were treated like old friends.

Gentle, but cool, tunes filling the background. Windows were flung open and we could smell the seaside. We’re at the perfect couples table with perfectly chilled champagne in the most gorgeous glasses (love!).

Let’s check out the new summer menu …

Nick (the owner) provides hints, but when the starters include house-made haloumi, grilled octopus, tuna tataki, the freshest zucchini flowers and goat’s cheese, you know you’re in for some difficult choices ….

We dithered (need more Champagne!), umm’d and ahh’d …. and eventually, dinner turned into a tapas tour of fresh, simply superb, flavour explosions.

We couldn’t resist:
• Pita & trio of dips … oh the capsicum!!
• Betal leaf, prawn, Thai spices, coconut, pomelo & peanut
• Roti & vegetarian Massaman curry
• Cauliflower cheese arancini
• Zucchini flower popper, goat’s cheese, Monterey Jack, pico di gallo
• Half-shell scallops, cashew, green mango & nam jim
• Braised lamb ribs, piccalilli and BBQ sauce

I’d add more, but we were full from the generous starters!!

We’ll be back to #1908 soon to taste more of the summer menu … hopefully a main next time - the duck breast, salmon, spanner crab and lamb are all calling!

#1908 … fabulous, innovative menu. Un-intrusive, thoughtful service. Wine list is excellent.

Perfect for an easy mid-week visit, something special on the weekend or a lazy Sunday lunch.

Sparkey

Great service at lunchtime on a Saturday. Smallish servings but beautifully cooked. Delicious menu with enough variety.
