About Mimosa Rocks National Park

Mimosa Rocks National Park covers an area of 5,230 ha and embraces 17 km of coastline. The park is heavily timbered and contains a diverse system of beaches, sea caves, headlands, cliffs, offshore stacks and lagoons. From an original reservation in 1973 of 628 ha between Bunga Head and Picnic Point, the park was enlarged in the late 1970s and early '80s by the addition of lands purchased under the Coastal Lands Protection Scheme, former public reserves and state forests.

Mimosa Rocks National Park covers an area of 5,230 ha and embraces 17 km of coastline. The park is heavily timbered and contains a diverse system of beaches, sea caves, headlands, cliffs, offshore stacks and lagoons.

From an original reservation in 1973 of 628 ha between Bunga Head and Picnic Point, the park was enlarged in the late 1970s and early '80s by the addition of lands purchased under the Coastal Lands Protection Scheme, former public reserves and state forests. The park also benefited from the generous donation of lands in the Middle Beach / Bithry Inlet area and the Nelson Lagoon area.
